Sterilization is the best form of germ and virus eradication we know of. It takes the disinfection process a step further still, by using specialist chemicals combined with other mechanisms like heat, gas, or mist to kill bacteria and inactivate viruses by 99.9999% or more.
It should also be noted that sterilization eradicated fungus spores, which sanitization and disinfection does not.
It’s for this reason all medical equipment in a surgery theatre is sterilized before use, as it gives us the best chances of protection from all harmful pathogens.
