Dr. John is a highly respected international law enforcement and forensic science professional with over 46 years of experience in the fields of policing and forensic investigation. After an already illustrious international career, he has been Chief Executive Officer of Approved Group International for the last 14 years.

Dr. John has previously headed the Crime Scenes Branch of the Australian Federal Police, as well as an exchange of advice and methodology with the prestigious United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Arson Enforcement Branch and the United States Federal Emergency Management Agencies National Fire Academy.

Holding master’s degrees in Forensic Science, Public Management, and Fire Investigation, Dr. John is also a Chartered Chemist a Fellow of the RACI (FRACI C Chem) and is a trained police officer. He is also a Fellow of the International Association of Fire Investigators, which designates those members as having achieved an eminent position in their field. Only 3% of IAFI members are Fellows, with Dr. John being one of them, making him among its most prestigious members.

Dr. John has a life-long passion for solving complex cases using science and technology. As a leader, he has always been supportive of the “task force” approach to forensic investigation and has been an avid supporter of the role played by relevant professional organisations in the application of Forensic Science and Forensic Investigation.

Roshiv is a man who has lived and breathed his work and currently excels as the head AGI’s marketing and technology department. He studied at the University of California, Davis in the US, achieving his Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business and Managerial Economics. He then went on to work in the home of international tech, Silicon Valley in California. While at Treez Inc, also in Silicon Valley, he acted as a one-man finance team, raising US$13 million in Series A funding. Unsurprising, Roshiv’s diligence allowed both Treez Inc and its accounting team to grow rapidly in a very short period of time.

Upon returning to Malaysia, Roshiv brought Silicon Valley back to AGI as a Marketing Analyst. With all the experience obtained in the fast-paced US tech industry. He was able to change the company’s direction by introducing nine platforms and tech advancements at AGI to complement our services. With those truly impressive efforts, Roshiv unsurprisingly quickly earned his position as our Chief Marketing Officer, overseeing all of our global marketing operations.

Inspired by his AGI colleagues, Roshiv also became certified in restoration after he realized how much good could come from his skillset when disaster strikes. Also armed with a Master’s Degree in Engineering and Industrial Management, his deep understanding of marketing, engineering, business development, and public relations have made him an integral part of our management team at AGI.

Surendran is a dedicated and self-motivated individual, who has an in-depth knowledge of electrical industries. Surendran is a graduate with a Bachelor of Engineering Electrical and Electronics Engineering, who went on to be a highly valued commissioning engineer in Oman and Saudi Arabia.

Now with our team in Malaysia, Surendran is one of our electrical forensic engineers who affords us more than 10 years of experience in the electrical industry. He's done everything from project execution to installation, testing, and commissioning of high voltage (HV), Medium Voltage (MV), and Low Voltage (LV) substations and power generation stations. His range of skills is clearly very versatile, which makes him an extremely valuable asset to our team.

A lifelong learner, Surendran is currently (remotely) undertaking his Master of Embedded Systems. We are certain that on top of his current set of skills, his growing knowledge of cutting edge integrated circuit design, computer architecture, and communication networks will make his skill set unparalleled in his field.

Azim is the Senior Restoration Engineer and a Vice President at AGI. His background in electronic engineering, coupled with his excellent skills in technical analysis, decontamination, restoration, and loss mitigation methods have given Azim a unique perspective on crisis management. He will oversee the Damage Assessment, Disaster Restoration, and Infrared Thermography departments at AGI.

As a graduate of Engineering in Electronic Engineering and certifications from IICRC, Azim is well versed in the latest technologies and techniques in disaster restoration, and enjoys sharing his knowledge with his team.

At AGI, Azim's work includes supervising field teams to assess damage after natural or manmade disasters, developing strategies for restoring properties to their pre-loss condition, overseeing the decontamination process for affected areas or equipment contaminated by smoke or fire, and assisting clients with risk management plans related to potential damages from future events.

With over 15 years in total sales experience, Carmen expertly heads our sales operations at AGI. Armed with her Diploma in Business studies, Carmen diligently navigated the world of sales for a number of heavy machinery companies, including Otis Elevators.

In 2018, Carmen used all of her experience to create her own engineering company, specializing in the construction, repair, and modernization of lift and escalator equipment. That extensive experience was exactly what AGI was looking for in 2021, and so we recruited her to head our sales operations.

A polylinguist, Carmen speaks four languages, including English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, and Cantonese. Her language skills matched with her outstanding sales acumen has been a major pillar of support for AGI’s operations throughout Southeast Asia and beyond.

Leslie is a world-renowned orthopaedic surgeon with over 30 years of experience. After graduating from the National University of Singapore in 1991, he obtained his Master of Medicine (Surgery) and Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) in 1997. In 2001, he was awarded the Ministry of Health Manpower Development Programme (HMDP) Scholarship to train at Toronto Western Hospital in Adult Reconstruction in Hip and Knee Arthroplasty.

As part of a value-add service to Insurers and Corporate Clients, AGI has linked up with Talent Asia Training and Consulting (TATC) of Singapore to provide our joint risk survey cum thermography survey for industrial or engineering facilities.

The objective of undertaking such surveys are to assist Underwriters to evaluate their risks, appreciate risk exposures and also identify risk improvement measures. The 1-3 day survey and technical interaction between our risk survey experts with the property/ facilities managers will identify how the risk can be better managed. They could be new features to be added or better recommendations developed that come out of such an assignment.

The Risk Survey is a walk-around, visual and information - gathering type exercise while the thermography activity will identify hot-spots within the electrical / mechanical features of the plant. Nagen completed his Bachelors in Science (Forensic Science) from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), which also included a rigorous internship with Royal Malaysia Police and The Department of Chemistry Malaysia. Adding to his impressive background he has also been involved in the practical session of fire investigation with the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia. Nagen has also already obtained hundreds of hours of supplementary training, resulting in several additional qualifications in his field, which includes him being a member of the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI).

Ninja is a qualified forensic investigator with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Forensic Science from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) with over two years of experience in the field. In her young career, she has already investigated major fire investigations involving buildings, chemicals, motor vehicles, machines and heavy equipment.

Ninja is a lifelong learner, training with the likes of the Royal Malaysia Police College and the Chemistry Department of Malaysia to further her knowledge in the different aspects of forensics.

Rozaidi is a restoration consultant for AGI, with a background in the lift and escalator industry as a highly-skilled technician. That hands-on background has given him excellent skills in damage assessment of all brands of lifts and escalators, as well as their electrical components. He has been involved in the restoration of a variety of heavy-duty industrial and commercial machinery, with a particular interest in damage related to water, soot, and fire extinguisher powder.

Rozaidi also possesses skills that include decontamination and restoration as well as loss mitigation methods through years of hands-on experience with real-life crisis situations during his time at AGI. His practical acumen has also been supplemented by AGI’s continuous professional training and development courses.

Adib is a very passionate and dedicated Damage Assessment and Restoration Consultant, who has been in the field of forensic science for over five years. He graduated from Universiti Sains Malaysia with a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) Forensic Science, and then went on to obtain a Masters of Science in Forensic Science, majoring in forensic investigation and ballistics in 2017 from the same institution.

During his studies, Adib was also selected for an internship attachment at Penang Police Headquarters where he obtained invaluable experience in crime scene investigation. His expertise also includes being one of AGI’s Certified Infrared Thermographers, along with his five years of experience in forensic investigations, and the restoration and damage assessment of hundreds of lifts, escalators, and heavy types of machinery both locally and internationally.

Adib brings AGI new and creative ways of assessing damage and restoration techniques and new technology to create the best result in every case. His expertise also helps AGI continue to provide efficient restoration services for our clients all around the world, while adding value to their properties.

Tee graduated from Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Australia with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Forensic Science, where she won several academic prizes, including the QUT School of Biomedical Sciences Biotechnology Graduand Prize and a Science and Technology Dean’s Merit Awards.

After her time at QUT, she then went on to provide her expertise with a protein production laboratory in Australia. Tee then gained two years of forensic investigation experience gained through theoretical training, on-the-job training and mentor-mentee training, and now conducts fire and explosion investigations, failure investigations, vehicle accident reconstructions, and damage assessment cases.

A multidisciplinary forensic experiment, Tee has experience with topics such as forensic DNA, chemistry, fingerprinting and questioned document examination. Tee has proven herself to be an invaluable member of our team through her leadership skills, technical competence and problem-solving capabilities. As a NAFI Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI), Tee has high expectations of herself and her team members on all aspects of their work, which makes her a key member of our forensics team.

Tana commenced his career in event management where he was responsible for large-scale conceptual design and innovation. He then developed his excellent skills in decontamination, restoration, loss mitigation, technical inspection, and damage assessment methods through years of hands-on experience in real-life crisis situations, supplemented by AGI's continuous professional training courses.

As an AGI Restoration and Damage Assessment Consultant, he is responsible for providing expert services to both domestic and international clients on a wide range of disaster management issues. Tana has been involved in the restoration of a variety of heavy-duty industrial, commercial machinery which has been affected by soot, water, and fire extinguishment material. Tana has become an excellent lift and escalator expert, assessing damage after all manner of incidents, as well as the auditing of lifts and escalators.

In addition to being an experienced lift and escalator specialist, Tana is also an expert at 3D imaging. He can use this technology not only to get a clear picture of what equipment needs to be repaired, but also for forensic purposes when it comes time for insurance claims.
